Mental Health First Aid

May 13 - June 12 2021

This an opportunity for training and certification in Mental Health First Aid sponsored by South Chicago Neighborhood Network (at no cost). MHFA teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance-use disorders. Attendees will learn about:

  • The History of MHFA in the United States
  • Risk factors and warning signs for non-suicidal self-injury
  • Warning signs of substance-abuse dependence

Prior to the instructor-led class, participants must complete a two-hour, self-paced online course before you can attend the virtual course.

5.5 hour virtual instructor-led course is available:

  • Thursday, May 13th (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM)
  • Thursday, June 10th (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM)
  • Saturday, June 12th (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM)
